Frequently Asked Questions
General
1I have a new puppy! When can my dog start coming to BARK?
Congratulations on the new addition! We can't wait to meet them!
Typically, 16 weeks old is the youngest that puppies will visit us because that is the earliest they are able to meet our vaccination requirements. Also, we ask that you let any new additions to the household settle in for at least 30 days prior to bringing them to BARK. This helps to ensure that any health concerns will have been noticed, and the pet will not unknowingly expose our other guests to illness.

2My dog is scared of other dogs. Will they be OK?
YES! We will ensure that your fur baby is placed in settings that will be a positive experience for them!
3There is a service that I would like, but you do not provide. What can I do?
Please let us know! There are many reasons that we do not offer additional services at this time. Knowing the services that you would like helps us to identify and focus on potential future offerings.

5My veterinarian recommends the Bordetella vaccine every 12 months. Why do you require it within 6 months of visiting BARK?
Studies have shown that the protection from the Bordetella vaccine wanes by 9-10 months of receiving it. In social settings such as BARK, the chances of exposure to canine cough are naturally increased, so it is important that your pet(s) immunity be strong. (Both for their health and the health of their friends at BARK!)
Daycare
1What is the difference between traditional daycare and Enrichment Daycare?
Enrichment Daycare is perfect for allowing your pup to burn off their extra energy through various forms of mental, physical, and emotional stimulation throughout their day! This model blends and rotates social time, games, skill development, and rest to give your dog the perfect balance. Dogs love to play hard, then rest hard. The curriculum is designed so that your dog gets to burn lots of energy with their friends, while still getting the rest they need.
We provide Enrichment Daycare because of its benefits compared to traditional daycare, where pups are not provided structured play time or dedicated rest time, resulting in declining behavior and wellbeing. With our well-balanced schedule, your pup is sure to return home tired, and with a big doggy grin!

2I would love for my dog to play with you in the mornings. Do you offer half-days?
We do offer half days! Our AM Play session is from 8 AM until 12 PM, and our PM Play session is from 1 PM until 5 PM. We'd love to spoil your pup at times that work best for you!
3What does the Daycare Evaluation include?
Our Daycare Evaluation is an opportunity for our team to observe your pup's behavior as we introduce them to some of the common scenarios they will encounter while in daycare at BARK! This includes a brief physical exam, entering and exiting an enclosure, and joining an existing daycare group of similar size and energy level! This evaluation is our way of determining how BARK can best serve you and your pup!
4I have not joined BARK as a member yet. Do you offer other discounts?
Yes, we offer a couple of options for "punch cards." These allow clients to unlock discounts for purchasing multiple days of daycare. Punch cards can be used for any day (subject to availability), and are good for one (1) year. However, keep in mind that these do not include any of the additional benefits that are exclusive to members!
5I am not a member, but I would like to bring my dog tomorrow. Can I purchase a drop-in for any day?
Of course you can! Remember, drop-ins are subject to availability. It is best to call us in advance to inquire about availability.

Lodging
1BARK looks amazing! Do you offer lodging for my bunny, gerbil, bird, fish, etc.?
Unfortunately, our lodging services are for dogs and cats only. Lodging for other pets requires additional equipment, training, and supplies which we do not have at this time.
2Can I see where my dog will be lodging before their stay?
Of course! We would love to show you around the facility and explain the many ways we can pamper your pooch! Simply call us and request to schedule a tour.
3Can we bring food from home?
Absolutely, we encourage it! Abrupt changes in diet can often disrupt a dog's schedule (and stomach!). Because each dog's diet is unique, "one scoop" for Fluffy may look different than Baxter's "one scoop." To help ensure your pup's diet and eating routine remains consistent during their stay with us, we simply ask that you pre-portion your dog's food into individual meal amounts for each day they will be staying with us. Sealable plastic baggies or containers work perfectly! Have questions? Give us a call!
If you prefer to not bring food from home, we provide complimentary house food! We feed the Hill Science Diet Sensitive Skin and Stomach kibble.

4My dog is attached to their favorite blanket and stuffy. Can we bring them with him/her?
Of course. We do allow personal belongings from home (within reason) such as blankets, toys, bones, etc.
While we do allow personal belongings, we can assure you that we provide everything your furry friend will need during their stay! Please remember, BARK is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal belongings.
